What is non-medical home care?

Non-medical home care provides services such as companionship, transportation, light housekeeping. This support keeps elders safe, secure, and with personalized assistance in their own home. Additionally, home care staff will help with senior’s personal care and hygiene, such as bathing and meal preparation.

Non-medical home care is a common service used to support seniors who don’t require long-term medical assistance. While non-medical home care aides aren’t required to have medical training or certification, some do. Engagement can be hourly assistance, or 24/7 live-in assistance where staff lives in household for a time period. Costs vary depending on location and the type and amount of support needed.
